absalom th father of peace

We arent bible ppl…th Lord isnt raisin up a joshua generation, there aren any mose bein sent to stand agsinst pharaoh…ruth, rahab, david, solimon, john, peter, james, paul, n countless others who we read or heard abt , lived their lives n was recorded … to rdmind us we are not alone, that th gr8 cloud of witnesses of which we are part, is made room fa us…n that mostly we are ppl walkin after th true n living God, th God of th living, Christ our Lord…

Th difference is Christ in us, th hope of glory…and that hope is certain…we walk in th fulfilled promise of God…

they lived, they walked, they stumbled, they didnt know their end or maybe not even their beginning…they were like us…one step at a time in Christ or  before Christ… but it was always Christ, not adam…

They were like us, in th hands of a holy, perfect God…and if sometime we see ourselves like them, its just a family resemblance, not reincarnation, not cloning…we are not them…we are who we are by th grace of th same God who raised them up also…

Th Lord did reveal much to me abt a few of em…im not taught by men, i have only known Christ….His love is th only love i ever knew n i come to know His is th only love there is…wat adam calls love lives btwn a taunt n a fist, is born of flesh, desires th world n changes direction like th wind…

Th Lord showed me somethin of absalom, a son of david…

And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.  And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do anything to her.

But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man (th serpent thst came to eve was subtle too). And he said to him, Why are you, being the king’s son, lean from day to day? (Why shld th son of a king suffer?) will you not tell me? And Amnon said to him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.

And Jonadab said to him (here th enemy plots wit th hearts evil lusts n desires, to carry him off to a far country), Lay down on your bed, and make yourself sick: and when your father comes to see you, say to him, I pray you, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.

So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said to the king, I pray you, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.

Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, (and th subtile one gets permission to enter) Go now to your brother Amnon’s house, and dress him meat.  So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.

And she took a pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him.

And Amnon said to Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of your hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother.

And when she had brought them to him to eat, he took hold of her, and said to her, Come lie with me, my sister.  And she answered him, No, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not you this folly.

And I, where shall I cause my shame to go? and as for you, you shall be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray you, speak to the king; for he will not withhold me from you.

Howbeit he would not hearken to her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her. Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said to her, Arise, be gone.

And she said to him, There is no cause: this evil in sending me away is greater than the other that you did to me. But he would not hearken to her.

Then he called his servant that ministered to him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.  And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king’s daughters that were virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.

And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colours that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.

And Absalom her brother said to her, Has Amnon your brother been with you? but hold now your peace, my sister: he is your brother; regard not this thing. So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom’s house.

But when king David heard of all these things, he was very wroth.

And Absalom spoke to his brother Amnon neither good nor bad: for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar

.

After 2 yrs, absalom th father of peace plotted then ordered his servants to kill amnon when he was drunk n weak, and they did…which comforted davids soul…but absalom didnt return to david, and david grieved, missing absalom th father of peace…everyday…

So Absalom fled, and went to Geshur, and was there three years.  And the soul of king David longed to go forth to Absalom: for he was comforted concerning Amnon, seeing he was dead.

Th love of God is in Christ Jesus n is found nowhere else…th Lord told me yrs ago, politics is religion in action…religion declares what love looks like, shspes it in rules n rituals,  but its s lie…religion shapes a false love thats born of offense n idols of honor n protection…but adam has neither honor nor protection…adam sinned n died…and God let him die…

Th Lord revealed to me yrs ago, abt absalom…th son of david…he was offended when david did nothing after tamar was raped…he was offended and that offense judged david n hated him…n absalom went after davids life n throne…not all at once…but it all unfolded outta rage…

Ab-salom…his nsme means father of peace…who musta saw his father cry out to th Lord a million times in his own brokenness, turned  instead to swords n treachery…turned by a rage that, once fed, grew up into ambition…he was beautiful, they said, remarking on his thick hair as tho it were a crown and his face that everyone admired…

Absalom, who by law was heir to th throne, tossed aside th law n th God of king david, in a fit of raging flesh, n plotted…

Absalom th father of peace…but wat peace…def not th peace of God… nah…absaloms peace came frm revenge, frm an anger so strong he cldnt stop it or control it…he wanted wat he said was right…he plotted to get it too…

Bc tamar was raped, and that by her half brother?  Maybe…bc david did nothing to avenge her?  Maybe…satan has a way of gettin u to agree to all manner of stuff…n he use watever already in u to rope u in…absalom was appointed, so it says…

After he killed his brother amnon, th half brother of tamar who raped her, absalom th father of peace decided he should judge israel, that all who sought th kings judgement shld come to him instead…n he worked that out too…

N then he went after th throne…after david hisself…

absalom th father of peace, religion, n like all religion, its founded on offense, th god of this world…he has many names, this god, n boasts his peace, that comes only as absalom found it, by bloody swords n rage…th peace of death…not th peace of God, which came by Jesus Christ alone, n which gives LIFE n beauty fa ashes…

Absalom th father of peace rode out in rage n killed his brother…tamar remained desolate in his house…his rage didnt heal her or bring her peace…amnon died, tamar remained desolate, absalom left his father n never reigned on davids throne…davids men killed absalom in his attempt to take th throne, n david mourned his death wishing he had died n absalom lived, turning their victory into mourning…

Absalom th father of th same peace wars are fought fa…fa borders n vengeance, fa fleshly worldly freedoms that dethrone th true n living God n refuse His comfort…n place itself to be worshipped, obeyed, desired…

In Christ alone is th peace of God …a peace that forgives sinners, that binds up th broken hearted n makes us free…

Th OT is full of th promise of God, but only by Christ is that promise fulfilled… Him who was slain…

Th OT kings had their ways n wars n grief…but in Christ is eternal life n joy forever…tamar lived in her time, amnon, absalom, even david…they had not seen th coming of th Lord n th Spirit of God indwelling a new, born again creation…

Forgiveness wlda changed this whole story…th forgiveness that came by Christ alone wlda chsnged th landscapd frm blood red to white as snow…but Christ had not yet come…

Jesus Christ alone has power on earth to forgive sin…

Jesus Christ alone…He has come, is risen, and is King forever…

We are free frm th OT…we are a new creation, born of th Spirit of God n He remains in us…

Th OT wars prove that th OT was a mere shadow, incomplete, imperfect…Christ is come…He alone is th good news of God…

OT ppl were forgiven by law but continued in sin…they were led astray by their own evil lusts n desires…

But Christ, th law of God n th fulfillment of th law of God, is come…th old is done away wit in Christ…we are forgiven n sin no longer has dominion over us…we not led astray but th indwelling Spirit of God wars agsinst our flesh, and wins…we not led astray bc we in Him n He wont lose one nor cast us out…one sacrifice, not many, one death, not many, one forgiveness thats gives new life –beauty– fa ashes n that life is Christ n He, th Spirit of th living God, remains in us forever…
