The Tree of Knowledge

In the beginning, there were two trees in the Garden of Eden. One of them was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. God warned Adam and Eve not to eat of this tree because it was evil and was cursed. It would bring forth death.  The original text of the word “knowledge” in Hebrew is da‛ath … knowledge is from the tree of death. Ever since they received and ate the fruit, they have been ruled by this tree.. and mankind after them.

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” Gen 2:17

Christ is the Tree of Life that was kept from Adam and Eve when they were cast out of the garden, and He is given to us now. We are restored to God, and have Life in us. Satan is the tree of death, the knowledge of good and evil (though there is no good knowledge.. but good vs evil according to man, and is not Truth in Christ, but men ruling and being as gods, deciding right vs wrong).. and the spirit of knowledge is very big in this world.. this is a world that worships the spirit of knowledge.. from enlightenment, illumination, theology, education, universities dedicated to the gods, philosophers.. even satan is called the all seeing eye. Boasting to see all things and know all things.. but He is not Christ, and He is not Truth.

There is a huge difference between learning about God through knowledge, which is with the natural mind of the old creation.. and receiving it by revelation is out of the heart of the new creation and His Spirit in us. Knowledge is actually evil. It turns into doctrine. It becomes religion. It is something studied, and is by the wisdom of men.. but the wisdom of this world is foolishness and Christ becomes a stumbling block unto them.

The Pharisees and Sadducees had the scriptures. They studied it and knew it very well.. but it was by knowledge and not revelation.. to where all scripture that testified of Christ was hidden from them, and they did not see Truth Himself when He stood in their presence.

Revelation is given by God. There is also His manifestation. Jesus said, I will come and manifest myself unto u.. when we speak, it is by His Spirit that speaks in us. The new creation is subjected to Christ, and He is the Lord of the new creation’s eyes, ears, mouth, heart, belly, feet, and so forth.. the entire body. God desires for truth to be in our inward parts. Truth IN us.. it has changing power.

That is why so many can learn continually, and have all sorts of knowledge, but still not have Truth..  ever learning but never able to come to Truth. He is the only thing worth knowing.. and all that we need to know is contained in Him. We do not need to know all things.. but in Him, we already know all things.

“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2 Tim 3:17

Revelation humbles… it causes us to decrease so that Christ may increase. Revelation edifies. It strips ourselves away (the old man), edits the things of the flesh, removes the stones… and the new man is built up in Christ as a living temple. Knowledge boasts in evil things, but all revelation brings us to know HIM… not of the power of the enemy, but the power of Christ, Him overcoming and having the victory.

Christ becomes truth in us, in our inward parts… just as knowledge bears the fruit of the tree of death.. we bear the fruit of Christ. His Spirit is given to us freely, as wells in us springing up to eternal life.

Paul said I can have all knowledge and doctrine, but if I have not charity (agape— Christ in us– heart of the new creation), then I have nothing. Imagine that… in a world where they worship knowledge.. the spirit of knowledge… yet, its a completely different spirit than God.

“Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.” 1 Cor 8:1,2

That is powerful^ … we all have knowledge, but He works in us, removing what ought not to be there.. knowledge puffs up, but charity edifies.. it edits the old man’s flesh, removes the stones, and it builds up.. an actual building, not the puff of the leaven, but in Christ.. a sure foundation, built up like in the book of Revelation.. and if a man thinks he knows anything (by knowledge).. he knows nothing he ought to know.. amazing. We count it as nothing.. as Paul did when he was once the pharisee of pharisees.. and had all knowledge, yet it drove him against the will of God. He counted it as dung. Christ takes it out of us and brings us into Christ, full submission and reliance upon Him.. not trusting in knowledge, but to be only seeking Him. He removes the spirit of knowledge from us, and destroys the works of the enemy.

We have the natural mind, and it is conquered by Christ, every thought is captive to Him… there is so much fear in knowledge.. and there is so much sorrow. All these r overcome and conquered in Christ. Cast out of us.. the enemy cannot reign in us any longer.

“And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit. For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow. ” Ecc 1:17,18

The new creation comes to a maturation in Him.. as He steadily nourishes us, all things in its time, from milk to meat.. if you give a baby hard food before its time, then the baby suffers and the body cannot digest it properly. The Lord is faithful and He raises us up in the fullness of Christ.. and we only need to know what He provides us.

Knowledge, and studying, and coming to all this by the arm of the flesh is weariness of the flesh.. He is freely given to His own, and we are strengthened.

“And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.” Ecc 12:12

The natural man, and the natural mind cannot receive the heavenly things.. it cannot know the things of God apart from the Spirit of God.

“For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. ” 1 Cor 2:11,12

We have not received the spirit of the world, which is also knowledge, but the spirit of God which gives us the things of God freely..

The bible warns us that in the latter days, people will run to and fro.. and knowledge will be increased. We see this with schools, universities, many instructors, even the internet.. knowledge is everywhere, and people are tossed to and fro like the waves of the sea.. but it will not be so in His children.  Even though knowledge increases, we also see there is a famine in the land…. we only need to know Christ and He gives us what we need to know.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. ” Dan 12:4

Knowledge and Truth.. completely different, but very similar.. hard to discern. It’s like looking at the mirror, u lift up your right hand, and the mirror person lifts up its left hand.. thats how satan is, a mirror (a mockery, form of imitation, but twisted).. but the complete opposite of Truth.

Knowledge is from one tree, and revelation and truth is from the other. One is death and one is Life. Both are different spirits, with different fruits. Knowledge leaves a person unchanged.. the spirit can bring a person to know the things of God, and the person thinks they have it and do not lack..but, is not a new creation.

Yet, He is able to deliver us.

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints” Eph 1:17,18

wow…yesssssssssssssssss…th different between revelation and knowledge is th differnt between th Spirit of God (revelatiojn) and th spirit of this world (knowledge)…its why knowledge puffs up; not bc it knows more but bc its th leaven of th pharisees…th spirit of this world and not of God …but revelation dont puff up bc it kills off th flesh and raises up th new creation in Christ…
