The Only True Fellowship

pattern palm leaves

When people hear “fellowship”.. they think of people gathering together in a church building. Our fellowship with one another isn’t physical but in Spirit. We are gathered unto the Lord, as one body, by one Spirit.. and our brethren are all over the world. Physically, we may never meet in this world, but we are intertwined together beyond earthly comprehension.

Fellowship was never about socializing with people, going to the same building, or walking around and shaking hands with people.. we were only called to have fellowship with the Father and the Son.

“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Cor 1:9

“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” 1 John 1:3

And if we have fellowship with God, then light dwells in us.. and we have fellowship with one another because we are joined together in the same light.

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7

Fellowship was always about us being joined together in God spiritually, and joining in the oneness between Father and Son. Fellowship was always about God dwelling in us, and we in Him.. being joined together into One Body.. Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is so much deeper than physically being put in the same place. Fellowship is translated as a communion which is oneness, but man has turned it into a doctrine to coerce others into remaining in their man-made churches, out of obligation, but no man can ever possibly create this fellowship because only God can join us together into one body.

“For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

For the body is not one member, but many.

But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.” 1 Cor 12:12-14,18

The last verse right above is key.. God sets every member into the body (Christ) as it pleases Him. We abide in Him because God chose us to from the beginning. All His sheep will come to Christ, and He will not lose one. We drink in the same Spirit, and have been made partakers of the body of Christ. Only God knows who is His.

We aren’t in fellowship with darkness, or yoked together with unbelievers, or made into one body with a harlot. We are ekklesia.. called out.. and separated unto Him. The Father in Christ, and Christ in us as one.

“At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.” John 14:20

fellowship is also our interaction with each other…in th ark of th covenant togetha,–fellowSHIP…

we will know them by their fruit..they will know us by our love…fruit and love, its th same thang,  both coming from th inner man…its Christ in us or th workings of th flesh by th enemy…we will know them, whether we recieve from them of Christ or satan, by th fruit they bear toward us…and they will know us, whether we be of Christ or satan, by th love they receive from us…whether its th love of God (Christ, agape) or th love of th world, (satan, phileo)

years ago th Lord showed me how th cross of Christ is both vertical and horizontal…th vertical shows us our relationship to our Father which is only thru Christ; th horizontal shows us our relationship with each other–and to th world, tho we are not OF th world–also thru Christ…apart from Him we have neither felloship wit th Father nor with th body and are merely slaves to sin in th world…

if th love we bear toward on another is phileo love, brotherly love, its rooted in th old man, is fleshly and self serving and is not of God…but th love of God  (agape) is shed abroad in our hearts…shed abroad….to be received by any and all who th Lord brings to us or past us…we are to love enemies, those who despitefully abuse us, those who hate us and those who are one with us in Christ…in fact we are not to change who we are bc of who they are…its not a work we do, but proof of th inner working of th Holy Spirit which conforms us to th image of Christ…

Jesus Christ looked at th pharisees, knew their beginning and their end…and didnt argue with them…wasnt tryna convince em of what was coming…didnt beat em over the head with many words and long debates…in fact Jesus didnt debate anyone…He who is th Truth has no need for debates…He told th pharisees that they were blind…they debated that…said they werent blind and claimed they could see…and Jesus said…if u were blind ur sin woulda been forgiven but u claim u can see so ur sin remains…

imean…heres th flesh arguing with God…debating…as tho Jesus didnt clearly understand what He saw or was saying…th flesh still tryna hold fast to its own image of itself, when clearly, th Lord Jesus unmasked it and laid it bear to them…

but He never debated, tho they tried to draw Him into debate so they can accuse Him…God doesnt have to debate or convince anyone by long discussions…His Word is Truth…it convicts going in and coming outta us…severing between th soul (living soul of adam; dead flesh) and Spirit (th new creation born of God; living flesh, Christ in us)

Jesus said, peter, do you love (agape) me …..three times…and peter answered three time, i love (phileo) you…

th love of God is in Christ Jesus and its only by Him, as new creations, that we have this love in our [new] heart, which is also Christ…pouring out this love, is how th Christ in us is known in th world (letting our light so shine, so that men will praise God)…if we continue in sin, following th ways of th old creation, loving according to phileo love, that brotherly love that is adamic and is not rooted in Christ, such love will not bring forth th praise of God by thowe who see it…we are told that our love is to better than pharisees…they loved their own, and judged everyone else harshly; it was undiluted phileo love…

but Christ is th better way…to love regardless of our adamic relationship to others, and show only th love of God…this isnt a work man does in himself…its proof of th work of th Spirit of God in th believa…bc apart from Christ, no man has known, nor ever can know, th love of God…

only th new creation has and shares th love of God; th old man is yet self serving and any remnants of his old life, either outta memories or his own self preservation, is fulla self love, th phileo love peter offered to Jesus who offered God’s love…phileo love parades itself as brotherly love and seems to be given, but in fact phileo is self love and is shared only as far as the self is satisfied in it…

and so it is…that they will know (receive from us) us by our love, whethere that love is of God or satan; and we will know (receive from them) by their fruit, whethere its of th flesh or th Spirit of God…

Christ in us is seen (their knowing) when His work in us pours outta us; fellowship among believers is sometimes rocky, thorny, full of thievin birds or smooth…at any given time…according to th work accomplished in th believer by th Lord…its not our work, its not fa us to make ourself into anything…if we a slave when called be a slave, if free then be free, but we are in all thangs to understand that th Kingdom of God comes not by word but by power and so its th power of God conforming us to the image of Christ…and as much as that work is accomplished IN us, that is as much as is seen ON us…fruit is born on th branch but not FROM th branch, it comes from th root…

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations ; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.  James 1:2-4

fellowship then, among believas, is th trying of our faith…God testing th reins of th heart, among brethren, working IN us according to His purpose and as He works and th old is cut away and Christ rises in those dead places, we share in peace and th rest of th Lord; and we are tried by diverse temptations which come thru ppl, in and outta Christ… and we lack patience, which is seldom seen in our fellowship with th Lord, but is obvious when we are gathered together, bc that temptation comes by ppl, even those in Christ…

maybe we are tempted to be cagey with ppl…i have been on th receiveing end of that one…its really not pleasant…where ppl kinda pick ur brain (or rather heart) to know what u learned…but they offer nothing of Christ in returne…maybe we ar tempted to judge someway other than righteous judgement…or maybe we are tempted to forsake th assembling of th saints altogether and separated ourself; or to be drawn into debates and arguments…whatever is th temptation, Christ was tempted in all ways as is common to man and He is th way outta it…aHe is th way God gave to us as a way outta temptation…

and even in those rocky, thorny, thievin birds areas, we are yet in Christ, safe and secure in Him and its His work to keep His body togehter…whatever arises between us by rocks, thorns, birds or some part of th old man that writhes in memory, Christ is th author and finisher of our faith and He is faithful to complete th good work  He begun in us…

we dont mourn as th world mourns…th loss of self (th world and th things of this world) –th old man– is our rejoicing, bc by his death, Christ is risen, and increases Himself in th earth (us)

while we ar ein this world, its possible for those outside of Christ to yet receive from Him…thru us…

i been takin care of my parents alone, who are both old and in not so great health…and one day th Lord said to me…they are like sheep without a shepherd…which at first i rejoiced cuz He didnt call em goats…but then He showed me…i was doing htis in my strength, and they had no opportunity to see th Lord as their Shepherd; as much as i ‘said’ how th Lord was healing em and caring for em, it was just talk bc in fact, i was doin it in my own strength, tryna keep em outta a nursing home; and pls notice too, He didnt call me to be a shepherd and wasnt talkin about me shepherding anyone…as th bride of Christ (both male & female are His bride) im not to usurp my husband;s authority…and everytime i was in my own strength, it was sin, usurping His authority, and i was busy as martha instead of resting as mary at His feet…and since that time He has been steadily reducing my workload and strength…as i lean on Him (bc i have to, having lost my strength by His mercy toward me), they see Him and not me…now they are no longer without a Shepherd and i am no longer doing this alone…and my place will not be taken from me…

whether we are among believas or th world, we will be tempted to return to our old ways of dealin with situations or ppll; wherever we put our hands to th plow and look back we not fit fa th Kingdom of heaven …but that dont stop Christ…or even slow Him down…its just so we know that we need some work still, His work in us,  to be made fit and joined and its His work, not ours..and if we lookin back, or not hating our mothers, sis, bros (we hate them when we submit to Christ and not continue in those ways learned by th adamic family)…its th NT way of God sayin…adam where are u …not fa His benefit since He always knows where we are; but fa ours, who usually never know when we are lost…
