Overflowing Wine

the chastisement of our peace was upon him…

And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to children, My son, despise not you the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives. If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not? But if you be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are you bastards, and not sons. Hebrews 12:5-8

My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the LORD loves he corrects; even as a father the son in whom he delights.  Proverbs 3:11-2

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

its been taught that we are chastised by th Lord, but the truth is, its Christ who was chastised for our peace…
in every verse of proverbs that says “My Son”, this is about Jesus Christ… bc He is the Son that th Father is speakin of…this is actually one of th ways that israel of th OT was suppose to recognize the Messiah, Jesus Christ; He fulfilled all Scripture and prophets…but they didnt recognize th time of their visitation, even they had Scripture and prophets…Scripture testifies of Christ bc He alone fulfilled Scripture and prophets…

the “exhortation which speaks to you as children” is Scripture fulflled by Christ, not by any man…and it speaks to us as children bc we are reconciled to God, born of th Spirit and bought wit a high price…

the only way we are considered sons is bc Christ is given to us (God sent His only begotten Son) and we are given to Christ, we are born of the Spirit and of water, and we are indwelt by th Spirit of God…

For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  Romans 8:15

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  Galatians 4:6

abraham and sarah were given isaac, isaac wasnt FROM them but TO them…abraham and sarah were too old yet isaac was given to them by promise…so it wasnt by their work or ability — the arm of flesh — that they had isaac, but by the arm of th Lord — by promise…

its how we inherit what we dont deserve… adoption —  where a stranger is given the rights and inheritance of a son, being brought into th family by law…Christ is th law of God, and th fulfillment of th law, which brings us as strangers into the covenant, into the family of God, and makes us sons…

we are born into the family of God by th Spirit of God, so we share Christ’s inheritance, as sons, being perfected and built up in Him…we are a planting of th Lord, rooted and grounded in Christ…

the chastisement of our peace was upon Him…

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 5:10

we are born of th Spirit of God, adopted by law and made sons, no longer servants but sons…

Wherefore you are no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Galatians 4:7

sons inherit, servants do not inherit…

often the hardships we endure in this present darkness, is said to come from God as some sort of chastisement…without any thought that this world is the result and operation of sin, hence the darkness here…we are opposed at every turn…dont we know that even isaac’s very existence in the OT was opposed?  yet he lived and married and had children despite the opposition; th Lord was wit him…

the promises of God are yes and amen…and nothing and nobody can stop em…

opposition in this world should be expected…bc we are provided fa by God, bc we are His and dont belong to this world anymore and bc we are bought wit a high price…Christ walked in this present darkness, being  from above and not from beneath, and we are seated in heavenly places wit Christ, being from beneath but now raised up, walking in this present darkness as Christ walked it…bc Christ in us is walkin it out and we are decreased in Him while He increases…

He doesnt make anyone sin or help anyone sin…He doesnt bless sin or agree wit it or condone it…sin separates us from God…

to say that everything we endure is from God, is completely against what He says…He doesnt tempt any man; He isnt th author of confusion…and He cant lie…evil is encamped on every side…so when we are pressed by th sin in this world, we can rest assured it isnt from God and He made us a way outta it — Christ…

the chastisement of our peace was upon Him…

He was chastised and we have peace…we are judged but forgiven; we are dead but made alive in Christ; we were once enemies of God but are reconciled to Him by Christ; we were outside the promises of God but now we are inheritors with Christ…

the indwelling Spirit of God is our restraint…and by this we understand that flesh no longer is free to live as it once did;

when th Lord threw saul offa his high horse on the road to damascus, the very world that once welcomed saul, that gave him letters of introduction, and sent him on his murdering way, hated paul, threw him outta town, chained him in dungeons, beat him wit rods 3 times and stoned him twice (a death sentence that couldnt kill him, not merely a punishment)…evidence of th fruit of righteousness…

and when one who claims to be of Christ continues in sin and has no restraint or continually says they are waiting until they are restrained or stopped or whatever, its a good sign they arent filled with th Spirit and not speakin by th Lord but are boasting yet in their dead flesh and adamic mind…once saul was Christ’s, he wasnt saul anymore and it was evident to all who knew him…

th fruit of the Sprit is peace…bought by th chastisement of Christ, a high price indeed since He alone is righteous and without sin…our warring against God is ended and we are brought near to Him, reconciled by Christ, and no longer enemies, but sons…no longer servants of sin, but sons of God by birth, by adoption, by purchase…

we endure hardships in this world bc our very existence is opposed by the enemy of God and yet in all that opposition, we are more than conquerors — we are victorious…

theres a big different when th Lord removes sin from us, removes th stronghold sin has over us, takes th foot of th world offa our neck — yet none of this is comfortable for our flesh, and even bein dead th flesh has somethin to say about it all…but its deliverance and freedom from this present darkness and not chastisement….and th removal of flesh, th peeling away of th outer layer, lays bare th hidden man of th heart, Christ in us th hope of glory…
